SINGELI 2THE WORLD CONVENTION (6th & 7th Feb 2024) The Singeli 2 The World Conference is an inaugural event dedicated to fostering growth, collaboration, and international recognition for Singeli music. Bringing together local and international experts, artists, and music enthusiasts, the conference aims to set a strong foundation for Singeli's future on the global stage. It involved the total number of 160 participants where by 12 were the facilitators including local and international facilitators. The Guest of honour was DR. Kedmond Mapana. OBJECTIVE. To promote cultural exchange and preserving Tanzanian culture by fostering collaborations and partnerships with international music professionals, record labels, and Managers. TOPICS THAT WERE DISCUSSED ARE : 1. Booking Agents and the global Market (Panel Discussion by Jess white & Derreck Debru) 2. Insights into global market strategies 3. Digital distribution strategies for Singeli music (By Alma Bronxi from EMPIRE) 4. Exploring effective distribution of music in different music platforms such as boomplay, spotify, youtube, audiomack, etc. 5. International collaborations and exporting Singeli music (Dereck Debru, Sebastian and Michael Ugwuu) Exchange of ideas, skills, and perspectives between artists from different cultural backgrounds, resulting in unique and innovative musical creations 6. Music business essentials for Singeli Artists (Celin Bakond & Frank) Emphasized on Contracts, self management, live perfomance, copyrights, international collaboration, marketing and promotion and music distribution. 7. Artist showcase. 8. Promoting Singeli Music online Engaging on social media by Utilizing popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, and YouTube to connect with fans. 9. Production Technique. (Sarah Perez) 10. Revolution of Singeli Music on the use of new production Technique that is Abaton. 11. Singeli Music Association ( TASIMA) Discussion on what the Association represents, and capacity building for the association Artist showcase. Wamoto, Man fongo, PK, Balaa MC, Kadilida, Eno plat, warembo na sanaa and other Singeli artists performed ARTISTS & MANAGERS WORKSHOP. Introduction This workshop was attended with 30 participants which included artist managers, Producers and Artists. Also 5 artist managers from Bongo Flava, were invited to be part of the workshop. Different topics such as production techniques, sound creation and recording, how to work with cooperate, global market penetration and role of international manager, how to become a good artist manager and many more, were discussed and shared among the participants together with the facilitators. Objective To provide platform for the talented music artists to unveil their talents and strengthen creativity. To promote cultural exchange and preserving Tanzanian culture by fostering collaborations and partnerships with different music professionals. OVERVIEW OF THE WORKSHOP. 1. Project introduction and Capacity building to participants. 2. Preparing and creating 10 beats to be produced 3. Identification and selection of the beats to recorded with the artist. 4. Seven audio recording and video documentary of the workshop carried out under Kandoro Baba & UBT with three collaborative songs which involved the Tanzania Singeli artists and the Kenyan Artist (Muthoni and Blink). 5. All the activities were carried out physically as they involved engagement during the recording sessions, workshop, and ice break. All the activities that were conducted gave a room for artists to express their creativity as an artist.

Introduction Singeli is a fast-paced electronic dance music genre that originated in Tanzania that mixing a sample of different Tanzanian tribe and has become increasingly popular in East Africa. One reason why Singeli music has penetrated the high and medium audience is its ability to adapt and evolve over time. Singeli music originated in lower-profile areas of Tanzania and was primarily associated with street culture. Kandoro Baba Entertainment company is engaged in producing and providing arts and entertainment services both locally and abroad. Some services offered by Kandoro Baba are; Artist management services, artist booking, event management, hiring entertainment facilities, Artist consultation, branding and promotion and also own Entertainment Music Hub.
