About the Project
Singeli Festi 2023 is the premier singeli music event in Tanzania and East Africa, now in its third consecutive edition. The last three editions have attracted 15,000 visitors to four venues each time. As the name suggests, Singeli Festi promotes the music genre of singeli, which has risen to compete with bongo fleva, taarab, and gospel, and now is gaining attention in the global music market.

AFYA FIRST CAMPAIGN. UBT, in collaboration with Melkianc Eye and Optical Center, will conduct a social activity offering free eye screening in various areas of Dar es Salaam and the Coastal Region. The main objective of this campaign is to provide low-cost treatment for patients with simple eyesight and vision impairments "AFYA FIRST" is the festival theme of the year. The campaign will start from May and run until October 2023.
WHY WORKING WITH SINGELI FESTI 2023. The organizers have a strong affiliation with the Singeli scene in Tanzania for about 20 years now. Key Singeli Stars have been identified and groomed through the cable hands of some key Producers Studios. As it is now Singeli has reached its peak under this tutelage and ef- forts of the organizers. The first and second edition of the Singeli Festi, 27 December 2020, had been met with a remarkable success and appreciation from the community. 2. Is an agent of cultural developement dirvisity and heritage : through Presence of local and international audiences across East Africa, Africa, Europe, and America. Performances from different artists of various music genres such as traditional music groups, Mduara, Mnanda, Bongo Flava, Taarab, Dansi, etc. Availability of traditional and street traders selling food, drinks, clothes, and handcraft 3.
